With nearly 70 hours a week of classes at The Second Half Centre, there is something for everyone. Classes range from £3 to £6 depending on the activity, and The Second Half Foundation offers a bursary for those who show need. Click here to view the Centre's class schedule.
Exercise:
The Second Half Centre has an 18 hours of weekly exercise classes. We want members to keep up their strength, build muscle and improve their overall well-being with our comprehensive exercise program. We offer Bokwa, Latin Burn, Stretch & Tone, Tai Chi & Qi Gong, Zumba, Kundalini Yoga, Well-Being Pilates class, Stretch & Tone, Abs Express, Salsa, Ballet Tone, Bone Density Workout, Mat Pilates and Abs, Bums & Thighs.
IT classes:
The Second Half Centre offers computer classes from Beginner to Intermediate. Whether it's standard word processing or basic emailing, or even working with iPads - the SHC caters to all levels.
Design and Practical Gardening:
Our Second Half Centre Members continue to flourish in our
Gardening class where members harvested from our very own award-winning
allotment in St Charles last term. It is the biggest private allotment in the
Borough!
Cooking and Nutrition:
The Centre offers classes in how to cook cuisines from
around the world by some of best chefs in London: from Thai, Lebanese, Persian,
Greek, to Indian, and many more! We promote the motto: eat well, feel good and
live longer.
The Arts:
The SHC runs drama workshops that include West End visits to
the top London Theatres. We also offer Singing for All taught and Bus Pass to
Broadway. And for all budding artists, we have Drawing & Painting, monthly
Tapestry and Needlepoint Workshops and Mosaics, Felt, Beading.
Brain Fitness:
The Second Half Centre offers a dynamic brain fitness
program for the intellectually curious. This term we offer The Art of
Revolution: Painting and Politics 1789-1914, Discovering World Religions
Through Art, Objects and Sacred Space, Creative Writing, ESOL, French and
Spanish. We also have a forum for members to share their thoughts and feelings,
led by psychotherapists.
